Since my father owned a Mk2 in the 60s I had always longed to own a Jag and when I retired in December 2022 the search began. After missing out on several decent examples this particular S Type appeared on Autotrader from a private seller. Whilst hesitant to buy private with no warranty etc. a chat with the seller and some comprehensive photos persuaded me to make the journey to Stafford and following a test drive, a thorough examination of the history and the car, including putting it on a lift. A deal was done and I came away with a beaming smile 😀.
I collected the car on 1st July with 50k miles and it has now clocked 64k and is a joy to drive. We’ve suffered some minor faults during my ownership but S Heywood or myself when capable have since rectified them. I drive it all year round as most of you will know and plan a trip round the NC500 next year.
