This was our 3rd visit to the Goodwood Revival and what a fantastic event it is running from Friday 18th through to Sunday 20th September.
There was 100’s of cars involved and a similar number on display or for sale at an auction. All the cars are raced hard they range from the 1930’s to 1960’s, many with hired drivers, many from F1 and Le Mans classes. The atmosphere is great with 99.9% of the crowds dressing in period clothing. There is a whole village of trade stands selling period items, cars, clothing, car parts, furniture, holidays, accessories, garage services, barbers, hairdressers etc.
The event is well catered with prices being typically southern. There are areas with themes and many bands playing era music, most you can’t help stopping and watching. This year the main theme for the event was Italian motorsport and culture, I have never seen so many Maseratti’s.

Some people turn up in aircraft including 3 spitfires and a hurricane, there was many other old aircraft on show and a whole field of private aircraft for folk who fly to events. The 3 GT40’s that finished 1, 2, 3 at Le Mans 60 years ago were doing parade laps.
There was a bike race dedicated to Barry Sheene again with famous riders riding bikes like Vincent’s.
Overall well worth visiting, we had the basic entry and were kept entertained the whole time, various levels of passes are available. We will be going again.
