About our Club
The Greater Manchester Region is one of the many regional groups that form part of the wider Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club. We bring together Jaguar owners and enthusiasts from across Greater Manchester and the surrounding area who share a common interest in the cars, the marque and the friendships that grow from being part of the Club.
Our members own a wide variety of Jaguars, from older classics through to much newer cars. Some members enjoy restoring and maintaining their cars themselves, some simply enjoy driving them, while others value the social side of the Club and the opportunity to meet people with a shared interest.
You do not need to own a concours-condition Jaguar, nor do you need to know everything there is to know about the cars. The Region is intended to be welcoming, friendly and enjoyable. Whether you have owned Jaguar/Jaguars for many years or have only recently bought your first one, you will find people who are happy to share their experiences and knowledge.
Partners and family members are very much part of the social side of the Region too, and are welcome at many of our meetings, events and days out.
What We Do
Club Meetings
Our Club meetings are normally held on the first Wednesday of each month, excluding January and August, in a room at Middleton Masonic Hall. Meetings usually run from around 7:30pm until 9:30pm.
Most meetings begin with a short formal agenda. This gives us an opportunity to review shows, events and activities that members have attended since the previous meeting, and to discuss forthcoming events, booking arrangements and Club plans.
The second part of the evening is often given over to a presentation from a visiting guest speaker or from one of our own members. Subjects vary considerably and may include Jaguar history, restoration, technical subjects, motorsport, travel, local history or anything else likely to be of interest to members and their partners.
If you live locally and are considering joining the Region, coming along to one of our meetings is a very good way to find out what we are like. You are also welcome to get in touch with our Chairman beforehand and arrange to come along and meet everyone.
Shows & Events
Throughout the year members of the Greater Manchester Region attend a wide range of classic car shows, Jaguar events and local displays with their cars.
Over the years our members have attended events including the Lakes Classic Car Show, Rochdale Classic Car Show, Manchester Classic Car Show and many others. The range of events is deliberately varied, from large national shows through to smaller local gatherings where members can simply enjoy a day out together.
The Region organises the Northern Jaguar Show at the Avro Heritage Museum in Woodford, Cheshire. This has grown into an important Event in the Region’s calendar and gives Jaguar owners from a wide area the chance to bring their cars together in an interesting and relaxed setting.
Members of the Club Committee help coordinate bookings and attendance at shows so that members know what arrangements have been made and where the Club will be displaying.
If you are thinking of joining us, the Events section is a good place to see the kind of places we go and the range of shows and gatherings that members take part in throughout the year.
Social Drives & Club Activities
The social side of the Region is every bit as important as the formal meetings and car shows.
Across the year members take part in a variety of social events with their partners and families. These have included BBQ evenings, curry nights, pub meals and our annual Christmas gathering.
During the warmer months we also organise drives and day trips to places of interest within reasonable travelling distance of Manchester. Destinations have included historic houses, museums, motoring venues and scenic locations, often with a meal or social stop included as part of the day.
Some of these outings are organised jointly with members of the Jaguar XJS Soft Tops Club or with neighbouring Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Regions, giving members an opportunity to meet an even wider group of Jaguar owners.
If you would like to see what the Region has actually been doing rather than simply reading about what is planned, take a look through our Activity Reports. These contain photographs and write-ups from meetings, shows, social drives and other Club activities.

Becoming a Member
If you live in the Greater Manchester area, or within reasonable travelling distance, and are already a member of the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club, you are very welcome to become part of our Greater Manchester Region.
Regional membership itself is just £10 a year, but what matters most is that you have an interest in Jaguar cars and would like to take part in the life of the Region.
Joining gives you the opportunity to attend meetings, take part in Club events and social drives, meet other Jaguar owners and make use of the member-only areas of this website.
Partners and family members are welcome at most of Meetings, Events and Activities and play an important part in the social side of the Club.
If you would like to find out more before coming along to a meeting, please get in touch with our Chairman. He will be happy to explain how the Region works and answer any questions you may have.
Club Member’s Website
This is the Club’s website, and it gives registered members access to additional features, including personal Car Albums, Gallery Photos, Event registrations and other member-only content.
